COURSE OUTLINE

Join Dr. Sandra Peter for a focused look at choral music composed by women.

All conductors--whether experienced, new in the field or students--can benefit from this presentation and information. Women are generally underrepresented as composers in our programming. The goal is to help broaden awareness of the available literature and encourage conductors to intentionally include women consistently.

COURSE VALUES
1. Repertoire ideas for all voicings and levels of choral ensembles
2. Historical perspective on women in music, illuminating the need for advocacy and continued research
3. A wealth of resources, both books in print and digital databases, to aid one’s search for repertoire
